It’s weird not seeing Roger Waters dates on Pollstar or anywhere else. After nearly two years of touring, The Wall is over. The greatest rock opera ever presented (ahem,…Quadrophenia?!) came to and end in Quebec City on July 21st. This latest crew has taken The Wall to a fantastic new level. Roger’s latest adaptation has given The Wall fresh application to today’s issues of war, privacy, governmental and corporate overreach. Destine to go down in history as one of the greatest rock tours ever, The Wall and it’s influence on our culture will remain. So cheers to Roger for keeping The Wall at the top of our collective minds. We will not forget. Check out this fan clip of “Mother”.
Linkin Park must be the hardest working band in rock and roll. They’re continuing their summer push through the States and Canada, with even more fall dates. Heading south to Brazil in October, and even playing Johannesburg, South Africa in November. Linkin Park continues to attract fans with their rocked out hip hop inspired jams. Touring on songs from their fifth album “Living Things”, the boys demonstrate their huge sound with the hit “Burning It Down”. Powered with electronics, rock and rap, Linkin Park’s latest work pushes their sound further than ever before. Check out this interview with Chester. Or maybe the “Waiting For The End” video from their previous “A Thousand Suns” album.
Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, the rock and roll power duo that make up The Who, are hitting the road once again. They’ll roam the States, serving up a feast of fine tunes that will help you remember what rock was and still can be. The tour will present “Quadrophenia” plus Who classics. This trip down memory lane will deliver some new visual twists. The captains of mod are ready to rock you.
Collective Soul continues to Shine. Nearly 20 years after their first album release, the boys are still proving to be one of rock’s top acts. Ed and company just finished a blistering multi city tour with a fantastic Atlanta Georgia show on July 7th at the Tabernacle. First set was songs from “Dosage”, featuring “Tremble For My Love”, “Heavy”, “Run”, “Generate”, and more. Then a greatest hits type set after a break featuring “December”, “Precious Declaration”, “Gel”, eventually wrapping with “Shine”. Awesome! This band personifies rock and roll. Cool cats, laying down some power cords, with some great lyrics. They still have a few added dates. 7.27.12 @ Penticon, BC, 7.28.12 @ Richmond, BC, 8.10.12 @ Stevensville, ON, 8.11.12 @ Saskatoon, SK, 8.25.12 @ Columbia, SC, 8.28.12 @ Syracuse, NY.
