Collective Soul has proved themselves as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Album after album, tour after tour, they continue to rock the world with their own sound of thunder. Their 2012 tour once again displayed the depth of their music and talent. Originally formed in Stockbridge, Georgia, Ed and Dean Roland propelled the band to the top of college radio with “Shine”. Their early success lead them to Woodstock 94. The hits kept rolling with the 1995 self titled release. “December”, “Gel”, “The World I Know”, and “Smashing Young Man”, were all memorable hits that still resonate. 1997’s “Disciplined Breakdown” saw the hits “Precious Declaration”, and “Listen”. 1999 saw the release of “Dosage”. “Heavy”, “Run”, “Tremble For My Beloved”, well recognized on the charts. The boys performed at Woodstock 99, covering both Ozzy and U2 songs. In 2000, “Blender” was released, featuring an Roland and Elton duet on the song “Perfect Day”, and the cover song “You Speak My Language”, written by Mark Sandman of Morphine. 2004 saw the band roaring back on the scene with “Youth”. “Counting The Days” was a top 10 hit. And “Better Now” is a great hit that ended up on a Kellogg Special K commercial….Ka-Ching! 2005 provided the tasty retrospective acoustic release “From The Ground Up”. No CS fan can forget the two nights with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra on April 23rd and 24th, 2005.
