"Libertad" is the second album from this power group. Opening with a blistering "Let It Roll", Scott and Slash fire things up with a rocking song of desire. The riffs are edgy and new, yet classic as well. There's times when you hear some Guns and Roses bleeding through on "The Last Fight" and "Just Sixteen". They really tear it up on "She Builds Quick Machines". Enter this one into the all time rock anthem category. The boys cover "I can't get it out of my head." Surprised at first to hear this, but then realizing it's a great song worth revisiting. "Pills, Demons, & Etc." seems to discuss a past mantra. Can't help but really like this album. But "Libertad" leaves me wanting more. More hard metal jams from Slash. More angst driven lyrics from Scott. Surely there's more left in this band.
